Our Arts Community

Historically, the Bucks IU has partnered with The Michener Art Museum to oversee and maintain the entire Bucks County Intermediate Unit art collection of over 200 pieces.  The Michener assists with the 66 pieces that represent the 11 collections used in the Art on the Move program by overseeing the safe storage, transport, installation, and de-installation of the collections.

Additionally, a selection of the art collection is on display at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Doylestown PA).

Sharing the Art…and Love of Art!

Art can only be enjoyed when it is seen and to that end, we promote the sharing and use of our art collection with museums, galleries, and the public. The Bucks IU through the Michener Museum frequently loans pieces to other museums or galleries in support of their exhibits.

We encourage the community to explore the rich culture and art of Bucks County by visiting the following websites:

As the African proverb says, ‘it takes a village’ and we need a village to continue to grow and expand art education – especially programs like this that use art to teach interdisciplinary curricula (math, science, social studies, art).  Your donation will go to support school scholarships so that we can continue to provide Art on the Move to schools and students who’s standard funding may not allow for progressive programs such as this.  Let us share the wonders of art – integrate it with interdisciplinary curricula – and expand the minds of today’s youth in ways that promote learning, sharing, inclusiveness, and positive development.

Should you have an interest in supporting this amazing program, please contact us at ArtOnTheMove@BucksIU.org. We’d love to speak with you.
